Announcement of the 1st Asian Ornithological Conference (First round)
8-10th November, 2021, Zhuhai City, Guangdong, China Dear Friends and Colleagues, We are delighted to invite you to attend the 1st Asian Ornithological Conference (the 1st AOC), which has been postponed to this year due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, and will be held on 8-10th November 2021 in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, south China. The 1st AOC aims to increase our understanding of the role of birds in biodiversity and ecosystems, plumage, vocalizations, migration, parasites and pathogens, and a multitude of other physical and behavioral characteristics of birds. Important conference topics will also include phylogeny, ecology and evolution, with particular attention to the challenges and opportunities that urbanization and global change bring about. The conference will shine a specific spotlight on the conservation of birds, including the importance of community participation, bird watching and citizen science. In compliance with local government's quarantine policy, the conference will be conducted in an "on-site + on-line" mode, including plenary lectures, symposia and round-table discussions.
